Geine Pongel is the fruity IPA from De Brouwschuur, the house brewery of Weerter Stadsbrouwerij in Limburg. The name draws from a local Weerts saying for a beautiful girl – blonde, spicy and fruity indeed. The nose offers fresh, fruity aromas with subtle citrus notes and hints of honey and cinnamon. The palate follows through: crisp and fruity with light citrus character, leading to a distinct and lingering bitterness in the finish. At 35 IBU and 6% alcohol, this is a well-balanced IPA that avoids aggressive bitterness.
