LagerLab No.6 Quadrupel Lager
LagerLab No.6 is an ambitious experiment from Rotterdam's Brouwerij Noordt: a quadrupel brewed with lager yeast instead of ale yeast. This unusual hybrid brings the full, fruity character of a strong Belgian style together with the clean, crisp finish of a lager.
In the glass, complex aromas of wood, toast and malt unfold, with notes of caramel and chocolate. The beer has a full body with a creamy mouthfeel, thanks to the use of flaked corn, yet remains surprisingly drinkable for its 10.3% alcohol content.
This is no traditional quadrupel, but a statement about what becomes possible when you combine classic styles with lager fermentation.
