De Gardist was a classic tripel from Brouwerij De Fontein in Stein, one of the Netherlands' smallest independent breweries. Brewed annually as a special commission for the Steinder Garde, a local organization, this 7.8% ABV beer embodied the soft, fruity character typical of Belgian tripels.

The beer presented a pleasant sweetness with fruity notes in the finish, though the specific fruit character remained elusive. De Gardist reflected Brouwerij De Fontein's ethos of brewing with respect for the surrounding landscape and nature. Production ceased in 2018.
