Stout Leroy is a soft, Flemish-style stout from Leroy Breweries in Boezinge, born from the merger of two of Flanders' oldest breweries: Het Sas (1572) and Van Eecke (1624). At just 5% alcohol and brewed with low fermentation, this is an approachable stout that distinguishes itself through refined character. The beer presents a dark colour with a clean white head. The aroma shows caramel and roasted malt, with subtle notes of bread and sweet maltiness. The palate is rounded and pleasantly sweet, without the heavy smokiness of traditional Irish stouts. This comes from two malt varieties and three hop types carefully selected by the brewers. The finish remains soft and full-bodied, with a pleasant dryness that balances the sweetness. A stout that holds to its Flemish identity, pursuing refinement over intensity.
