À propos
Westvleteren Twaalf is a Quadrupel from Sint-Sixtus Abbey in Westvleteren, one of the world's few still-active Trappist breweries. Since 1838, the monks have brewed here to support their monastery. The recipe for this dark, strong ale has remained unchanged since 1992. The beer undergoes natural bottle conditioning with fresh yeast and sugar, creating gradual carbonation. The nose reveals rich, complex aromas of dark fruit and toast. On the palate, a subtle, dry character emerges with sweet malt notes and a spicy, wine-like structure. The 10.2% alcohol is well-integrated. The finish is long and dry, with earthy notes and a pleasant warming sensation.
