Westvleteren Acht is a dubbel from the brewery of Saint Sixtus Abbey in Vleteren, one of only three beers produced by this legendary Trappist brewery. Since 1838, the abbey has brewed in small quantities solely to support monastic life and charitable causes. This beer displays the classic dubbel profile with notes of raisin, toffee, and banana, complemented by subtle spice. High carbonation gives it a surprisingly crisp and drinkable character despite its complexity. A bittersweet balance without cloying sweetness makes this a versatile Trappist ale.
