Brouwerij Girardin, located in Sint-Ulriks-Kapelle, produces this kriek using traditional lambic methods. The name 1882 marks the year Franciscus Girardin acquired the farmhouse that would eventually become the brewery. This is a spontaneously fermented kriek made with ripe cherries. The beer displays a bright cherry-red colour with pink foam. Cherry aromas dominate the nose and palate, complemented by subtle acidity and the tannins from stone fruit. The finish is dry with a pleasant tartness characteristic of lambic beers.
