Budweiser Budvar Alcoholvrij is an alcohol-free take on the classic Czech pilsner from České Budějovice, a brewery town with medieval brewing roots. At just 0.5% ABV, this lager attempts to preserve the malt and hop character of the original without fermentation's contribution. The brewery uses traditional inputs: whole-leaf Saaz hops, Moravian malting barley, and water from an Ice Age aquifer. These foundations give the alcohol-free variant a more honest starting point than many competitors, though the absence of alcohol and full fermentation inevitably limits depth and finish.
