Bornem Tripel
Bornem Tripel is a powerful abbey beer from Brouwerij Van Steenberge in Ertvelde, Belgium. Since 1971, the brewery has crafted this beer using traditional methods, blending water, barley malt, sugar, rice, hops and yeast into a refined tripel. At 9% alcohol, it is a mature beer with a velvety texture and balanced character.
The aroma reveals malty notes with hints of caramel, honey and citrus hop, complemented by subtle spice. On the palate, a full sweetness develops with toffee and fruity undertones, followed by a dry, bitter finish. This is a living beer that continues to evolve after primary fermentation, developing further complexity in the bottle.
Bornem Tripel pairs well with dessert or as an aperitif, and harmonises beautifully with mussels and other seafood.
