Ārpus Brewing Co., the Latvian craft brewery acclaimed as the best in the Baltics, ages this Imperial Stout for 12 months in cognac barrels. The result is a full-bodied, deeply flavourful beer where roasted malt meets the rich legacy of the barrel. At 13% ABV, the spirit's warmth is woven seamlessly into the beer's structure. The aroma opens with roasted grain, dark chocolate and caramel, followed by the presence of alcohol and barrel influence. On the palate, coffee and cocoa dominate, with brandy warmth and a whisper of spice adding dimension. The finish is dry and lingering, leaving behind the beer's serious, contemplative character.
