Scheldebrouwerij

Scheldebrouwerij is an independent craft brewery located in Meer, in the Belgian province of Antwerp. Its origins trace back to the early 1990s, when Peter van den Eijnden began brewing special beers as a hobby in his shed in Bergen op Zoom, across the Dutch border. Together with Kees van Loenhout, he formally founded the brewery in 1994. What started as a passion project quickly gained traction, and the brewery eventually relocated to its current home in Meer, where it has grown into one of Belgium's well-known artisan breweries. Scheldebrouwerij's portfolio is firmly rooted in Belgian brewing tradition, featuring a range of over 20 beers that spans Belgian tripels, strong blondes, dark ales, and seasonal releases. The brewery is known for combining classic Belgian styles with a slightly modern edge, making their beers appealing to both traditionalists and craft beer enthusiasts. Hop Ruiter is one of the notable beers in their lineup, showcasing the brewery's affinity for hop-forward interpretations of Belgian styles. A visit to Scheldebrouwerij is considered a must for any beer lover, with brewery tours offering insight into their brewing process and the stories behind their beers. The brewery remains proudly independent and continues to craft its beers with the same artisan spirit that defined its earliest days.
