Founders Brewing Company was born and brewed in Michigan since 1997, when college friends Mike Stevens and Dave Engbers opened their first brewery in a 9,800-square-foot facility in downtown Grand Rapids. What started as a passion project quickly became one of the most celebrated craft brewing operations in the United States, built on a philosophy of brewing bold, boundary-pushing beers that were never intended for the mass market. The Grand Rapids brewery has grown into a destination in its own right, with a portfolio spanning a wide range of styles that reflect the brewery's commitment to quality and character. Founders has consistently championed big, flavour-forward beers — from hop-forward ales to rich, malt-driven stouts — earning a loyal following among craft beer enthusiasts worldwide. Their famous coffee stout, brewed with an abundance of flaked oats and a generous hand with bitter roasted ingredients, became one of the brewery's most iconic offerings. With more than 25 years of brewing behind them, Founders has cemented its reputation as a powerhouse of the American craft scene. Six different Founders beers have each won six different awards, reflecting the depth and consistency of their brewing programme.
