Dorpsbrouwerij Uzzewuzze
Netherlands · Founded in 2020
Dorpsbrouwerij Uzzewuzze is a small village brewery founded in 2020 in Roelofarendsveen, a village in the Kaag en Braassem municipality in the Dutch province of Zuid-Holland. The name itself reflects the local character of this community-rooted brewery, which operates as a so-called huurbrouwerij — a contract or gypsy brewery that brews its beers at a rented facility rather than from its own brewhouse. Despite its modest size, Uzzewuzze has built up an assortment of more than ten beers spanning a range of styles. Known offerings include ales and specialty beers such as a Dubbel, demonstrating an appetite for traditional Belgian-inspired styles alongside more contemporary brews. One of their beers, the Drekhaan, was recognised with a bronze medal for Best Fresh Hop Beer in 2025, highlighting the brewery's focus on quality ingredients and seasonal brewing. Uzzewuzze participates actively in the local and regional beer scene, appearing at events such as the Winterbierfestival and hosting beer-and-food afternoons. The brewery embodies the Dutch craft beer spirit: small-scale, community-driven and passionate about storytelling through every glass.
