Brouwerij St. Feuillien
Belgium · Founded in 1873
Brasserie St-Feuillien is a family-owned Belgian brewery with roots stretching back to 1873, when Stéphanie Friart founded the brewery in Le Roeulx, a town in the Hainaut province of Wallonia. Over 150 years later, the Friart family is now in its fifth generation of brewing, making St-Feuillien one of Belgium's most enduring independent breweries. The brewery's name and identity are closely tied to the local heritage of the region, reflected in the iconic St-Feuillien roundabout that marks its location in Le Roeulx. St-Feuillien's portfolio is rooted in traditional Belgian brewing styles, with a particular strength in high-fermentation ales. The brewery has a long history with the Grisette style — its first Grisette Amber dates back to 1919, with the recipe revived in 1985 and a Blond variant added in 1995. The range spans Belgian dubbels, strong dark ales, and refined blonde beers, showcasing a broad mastery of malt-forward and hop-balanced brewing. A notable addition to the portfolio is the St-Feuillien Grand Cru, introduced in 2011, which elevated the brewery's reputation as a producer of elegant, complex blonde tasting beers. St-Feuillien is frequently cited alongside Belgium's leading specialty breweries in the Belgian Dubbel and Belgian Strong Dark Ale segments, cementing its status as a pillar of Wallonian brewing tradition.
