Brouwerij De Leite
Belgium · Founded in 1997
Brouwerij De Leite is a Belgian microbrewery founded in 1997 by Luc Vermeersch, whose passion for traditional craftsmanship led him to install a small brewing setup in his garden shed in Ruddervoorde, part of the municipality of Oostkamp in West Flanders. What began as a personal brewing adventure has since grown into a fully fledged craft brewery with a dedicated following both in Belgium and beyond. The brewery is known for producing bottle-conditioned beers, with every beer undergoing a secondary fermentation in the bottle — a hallmark of quality and craft. De Leite's portfolio spans traditional Belgian beer styles, including tripels and old-style Belgian ales. A notable addition to their range is Femme Fatale, a line of organic and gluten-free beers crafted without compromising on flavour, catering to a broader audience including those for whom gluten-free brewing is a necessity rather than a lifestyle choice. The brewery has also engaged in collaborative brews, such as the Enfant Terriple, an old-style Belgian tripel released as part of an international collaboration series. Sustainability plays an increasingly important role at Brouwerij De Leite, with the brewery actively pursuing responsible water management practices in its production process. To mark its 15th anniversary, De Leite released a special birthday beer — a blonde tripel with a hint of rum — demonstrating the brewery's willingness to experiment within traditional Belgian brewing frameworks.
