Brasserie de Blaugies

Brasserie de Blaugies is a small family farmhouse brewery located in Dour, in the Hainaut province of Wallonia, Belgium. Founded in 1987–1988 by married schoolteachers Pierre-Alex Carlier and Marie-Noëlle Pourtois, the brewery began in the most humble of settings: the family garage, where the first batches were brewed with a daily capacity of just 750 litres. Around 2000, the couple's sons joined the operation, continuing the family tradition into a new generation. The brewery is firmly rooted in the Belgian farmhouse ale tradition, specialising in saisons and rustic artisan beers. Its portfolio reflects the earthy, vinous character typical of Wallonian brewing. Among its most celebrated beers is La Moneuse, a light orange saison brewed to 8% ABV, known for its rich, earthy and vinous profile — less hoppy and crisp than some regional counterparts, but full of farmhouse character. The Darbyste, a farmhouse ale, and the Blonde de Blaugies are further examples of the brewery's range, alongside more adventurous offerings such as the Blidegarian Imperial Stout. Brasserie de Blaugies is recognised as one of Belgium's authentic farmhouse brewing icons, drawing admirers of traditional saison and artisan beer styles from around the world. The brewery also operates a restaurant on site, offering visitors an immersive experience in the heart of Hainaut's rich beer culture.
