St. Louis
Belgium · Founded in 1957
St-Louis is a Belgian beer brand produced by Kasteel Brouwerij Vanhonsebrouck, a family brewery with deep roots in West Flanders. When Brussels brewers claimed that authentic gueuze and lambic could only come from the Senne valley, Vanhonsebrouck took up the challenge in 1957 to become the first West Flemish brewery to produce these traditional spontaneously fermented styles. The St-Louis range was born from that ambition, and it has remained one of the brewery's signature fruit beer and lambic lines ever since. The St-Louis portfolio centres on lambic-inspired fruit beers, with the Kriek Lambic being one of its most recognisable expressions. The St-Louis Kriek Lambic pours a clear reddish-brown colour with a fine, light beige head, and its aroma is dominated by ripe Oblačinska cherries. Alongside the kriek, the range includes a variety of fruit lambics that reflect the brewery's specialisation in sweeter, fruit-forward beers. Vanhonsebrouck is widely known for producing sweeter beers, and the St-Louis range sits firmly within that identity. St-Louis shares the Vanhonsebrouck portfolio with other well-known Belgian brands such as Kasteelbier and Bacchus. Together, these ranges have established the brewery as a notable name in Belgian fruit beer and lambic production, appreciated by drinkers who enjoy accessible, fruit-driven Belgian ale styles.
