Ramses Bier
Netherlands · Founded in 2007
Ramses Bier is a Dutch microbrewery founded in 2007 by Ramses Snoeij. Since 2013, the brewery has been based in Hooge Zwaluwe, a small village in the Dutch province of North Brabant, where Snoeij brews his beers in a characterful brewery setting. From the very beginning, the brewery has been built around a personal vision and a compelling story behind every beer. Ramses Bier is known for its sustainable approach to brewing. The brewing water is preheated using a wood pellet stove and solar panels, reflecting a genuine commitment to environmentally conscious production. A defining characteristic of the brewery's portfolio is its focus on dry-hopped, single-hop beers — each brew showcasing the unique character of a single hop variety. This philosophy results in beers with a clear and honest flavour profile, allowing the hop to truly shine. The brewery has also brewed traditional Dutch styles, including a kuitbier, an old-fashioned grain beer style with medieval roots. Ramses Bier has been mentioned alongside other respected Dutch craft breweries as part of the Netherlands' growing craft beer scene. The brewery has contributed to renewed interest in historical Dutch beer styles such as kuitbier, with its Kuiter receiving attention in academic and beer-enthusiast circles alike.
