Lefebvre
Belgium · Founded in 1876
Brasserie Lefebvre is a family-owned Belgian brewery located in Quenast, a small town in the Walloon Brabant region of Belgium, approximately 25 kilometres south-west of Brussels. Founded in 1876, the brewery has been passed down through six generations of the Lefebvre family, making it one of the more enduring family brewing dynasties in Belgium. Its location in Quenast was strategically chosen from the outset, allowing the brewery to supply cafés surrounding the local quarries with ease. Today, siblings Céline Lefebvre and her brother represent the sixth generation of family ownership and management. Brasserie Lefebvre offers a rich and varied portfolio of Belgian beers, comprising around ten beers in its current range. Over the decades, the brewery has brewed a wide variety of styles, including a Spéciale Belge and a Scotch ale, some of which are no longer in production. The brewery is also notable for contract brewing, producing beers on behalf of other brands, including the Floreffe abbey beer range — inspired by monastic brewing traditions — and beers for Brouwerij Vercauteren. Among the brewery's best-known beers is Hopus, a hop-forward Belgian ale that has earned the brewery recognition at international events, including exposure at the Expo. Brasserie Lefebvre also exports a significant portion of its production, with approximately 75% of its beer destined for international markets, underscoring its reputation well beyond the borders of Belgium.
