Koningshert
Netherlands
Koningshert is a small-scale Dutch craft brewery based in Drachten, in the province of Friesland. The brewery was founded by a group of local brewing enthusiasts known as the Drachtsterbrouwers, who brought their beers to market under the Koningshert name. In its early years, the brewery made use of the facilities at Admiraals Bierbrouwerij to produce its beers, reflecting the collaborative spirit that has come to define the Dutch craft beer scene. Koningshert brews deliberately on a small scale, ensuring that every beer receives the attention and precision it deserves. The portfolio covers a range of styles, from blonde ales and wheat beers to darker styles such as brown ale and dark ale. The brewery also embraces collaboration brewing, having partnered with breweries such as Yeasterday Brewing on experimental releases and producing a collaborative IPA. This openness to experimentation and co-creation keeps the range varied and dynamic. Koningshert has built a loyal following in the Frisian region and beyond, with its beers available through specialist drinks retailers. The brewery is known for engaging directly with beer lovers through tasting events and educational beer experiences, where participants are introduced to the brewing process and the characteristics of different beer styles.
