Bierbrouwerij Vermeersen

Bierbrouwerij Vermeersen is a historic brewery located in Hulst, a fortified town in the Zeeland province of the Netherlands. Its roots stretch back to 1821, when three Flemish brewers' sons founded a brewery in Hulst under the name De Halve Maan. This long heritage places Vermeersen among the oldest brewing traditions in the southwestern Netherlands. In 2016, following an agreement with the well-known Bruges brewery of the same name, the Hulst brewery officially adopted the name Bierbrouwerij Vermeersen, honouring its family legacy while stepping into a new chapter. The brewery is known for its craft approach, combining passion, craftsmanship and character in every beer it produces. Among its beers is Oud Hulst, a beer that draws directly on the brewery's deep local roots and history. The portfolio reflects a dedication to quality and a connection to the Zeelandic identity of the region. The brewery is situated at Absdaalseweg 2 in Hulst and also produces kombucha alongside its beer range. Bierbrouwerij Vermeersen is a recognised name in the Dutch specialty beer scene, with ratings on platforms such as Drankensuper Kolijn reflecting solid appreciation among beer enthusiasts. Its combination of centuries-old heritage and artisanal brewing makes it a distinctive voice in the Dutch craft beer landscape.
