About
Tap 6 Aventinus is the world's oldest wheat doppelbock, brewed by Schneider Weisse in Bavaria since 1907. Created by Mathilda Schneider, the young widow of Georg Schneider III, this dark ruby beer combines the intensity of a doppelbock with the character of a wheat beer. Intensive and fiery, with a warming presence suited to quiet evenings by the fire. The aroma reveals banana, raisins and dried plums, layered with biscuit malt and clove. On the palate, brown sugar and banana bread unfold alongside dark fruit notes, a touch of plum and caramel, finishing with subtle apple skin. The finish is smooth and warming, never hot. Brewed with German Hallertauer Herkules hops and a blend of wheat and barley malt, this well-balanced, complex beer pairs beautifully with rustic dishes, dark roasts and sweet desserts.
