About
Schneider Weisse's Aventinus Cuvée Barrique blends fresh Aventinus and Aventinus Eisbock, each aged separately in wine barrels for up to eight months before expert blending. At 9.5% ABV, this dark brown weizenbock embraces vinous character and subtle acidity while maintaining its wheat beer foundation. The aroma reveals red wine, oak and red berries layered with hints of mulling spices. On the palate, sour cherry and cranberry notes emerge, followed by dry wood and a wine-like texture. The finish remains dry and lingering, with measured tartness that prevents sweetness from dominating. Gold Medal winner at the 2018 European Beer Star in the 'wood and barrel-aged sour beer' category. A bold, sophisticated expression that rewards patient tasting.
