About
Schneider Weisse's Aventinus Tap 6 is Bavaria's oldest wheat doppelbock, a dark ruby-hued beer that radiates warmth and complexity. At 8.2% ABV, it marries the fruity spice of a weizenbock with the full, malty depth of a doppelbock. Fresh from the bottle, it is lively and approachable; over time it mellows into port and sherry-like fruit character. The palate is rich and layered: banana and spice from the weizen yeast, caramel and molasses from the malts, with hints of clove and coriander. Hallertauer Herkules hops provide subtle grassy and bitter notes. This is a beer for quiet moments by the fireplace, equally at home with dark roasts and sweet desserts.
