SNAB Maelstrøm is an American barleywine brewed by Stichting Noordhollandse Alternatieve Bierbrouwers from Purmerend. Originally created to celebrate the brewery's tenth anniversary, this beer has since become a signature expression of the organisation. Cascade and Amarillo hops from the Yakima Valley provide pronounced citrus fruit notes. At 9.2% ABV, Maelstrøm balances sweet caramel malts with a firm hop bitterness and fruity character. The aroma carries enticing candied notes with hints of stone fruit, while the palate reveals a mellow, malty foundation with resinous and tropical fruit undertones.
