About
Leidsch Dubbel is a Belgian-style brown ale from Leidsche Bierbrouwerij in Leiden, founded in 2004. Introduced in 2007 as the brewery's second release, it follows the classic Dubbel tradition. The beer is brewed with Pilsner, Munich, caramel and chocolate malts, bittered with Hallertau Mittelfrüh and fermented with ale yeast. The beer displays a malty character with caramel notes in both aroma and flavour. Tasters detect roasted malt and subtle banana esters, balanced by a light sweetness and gentle bitterness. A versatile beer that pairs well with robust cheeses and rich dishes.
