About
Maredsous Tripel is a golden tripel at 10% ABV brewed under licence by Duvel Moortgat on behalf of the Benedictine Abbey of Maredsous in Anhée, Belgium. The brewery took over production from the monks in 1963. This is an approachable, fruity tripel with a subtle nose of banana, spice and crackers. The palate is sweet and malty with pronounced yeast esters and a warm, dry finish marked by alcohol warmth. Maredsous is brewed with the same ingredients as the celebrated Duvel: pilsner malt, dextrose and continental hops, fermented with Trappist-type yeast. The result is an elegant, well-crafted beer distinguished by its refined character and lingering finish.
