About
Chimay Tripel is a blonde Trappist ale brewed by Chimay Brewery at Scourmont Abbey in Belgium. This 8% beer carries a brewing heritage stretching back to 1862. What sets it apart is the distinctive yeast strain developed by the monks in 1948—a culture that ferments at unusually high temperatures and gives Chimay beers their signature spicy, peppery character. The aroma opens with bread and rich malt, followed by sweet golden fruit and citrus with a hint of clove. On the palate, those fruity notes interplay with mild bitterness and spice. The finish is pleasantly sweet and malty, with a smooth mouthfeel that lingers gently.
