About
Leeghwater Weizheid is a full and creamy wheat beer from De Rijp in North Holland, brewed by Hans Konijn and his team. This beer blends barley malt, wheat malt and oats into an independent take on the German style. The beer presents characteristic aromas of banana and clove. On the palate, a silky smooth mouthfeel unfolds with full, soft fruity notes and a mild tartness. The finish remains gentle, with only a light hop bitterness. Brewery Leeghwater was founded in 2012 from Hans's passion for local beer with plenty of hop character, inspired by the North Holland landscape. The brewery's name references Jan Adriaenszoon Leeghwater, who shaped the Dutch polders in the 17th century.
