St. Louis Kriek from Brouwerij Van Honsebrouck is a classic Belgian fruit lambic, brewed on a base of spontaneously fermented lambic blended with cherry juice. This light, refreshing kriek balances the characteristic sourness of true lambic with the fruity sweetness of ripe cherries. The brewery, family-owned since 1811, brews this beer using traditional methods with a mash of malted barley and unmalted wheat, fermented with wild yeasts from the surrounding air. Approximately a quarter of the blend consists of Oblacinska cherry juice, delivering a full, natural cherry character. An approachable and easy-drinking kriek with a bright pink-red colour and a refined interplay between sweetness and subtle tartness.
