About
Old Hooky is an English Best Bitter from Hook Norton Brewery, a traditional brewer in Oxfordshire operating since 1849. First brewed in 1977 to mark Queen Elizabeth II's Silver Jubilee, it has become a beloved classic. This beautifully balanced ale displays a reddish-amber colour with hoppy, fruity aromatics and subtle toasted notes. The palate shows malty character with crystal malt presence, while a clean, well-rounded body and gentle bitterness provide a satisfying finish. Hook Norton produces Old Hooky using a time-honoured approach within its distinctive Victorian tower brewery, designed in the 1890s by William Bradford. The beer is crafted from four natural ingredients: malted barley, hops, yeast and spring water sourced from the brewery's Oxfordshire location.
