Lucifer is a strong golden ale from Mechelen's Brouwerij Het Anker, a brewery rooted in five generations of craft tradition. At 8% alcohol, this beer displays a gold-yellow colour with a distinctive fruity and elegant profile. The nose reveals sweet citrus and yeasty notes, while the palate delivers mild fruit, subtle banana and clove character balanced with a light lemony tartness. The finish is dry and increasingly bitter, with a warming alcohol presence. Lucifer carries significant weight in Belgian brewing history. Originally brewed by Liefmans and later acquired by Duvel Moortgat, Het Anker obtained the rights to brew and commercialise the beer in 2009. It remains a landmark expression of modern Belgian brewing heritage.
