The 400 Volt Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla is an Imperial Stout from 100 Watt (formerly Stadsbrouwerij Eindhoven) in Eindhoven. This potent stout at 10% ABV is brewed with four different malts and infused with Madagascar bourbon vanilla. The result is a complex beer balancing roasted and caramel notes with the warm vanilla character from real bourbon vanilla pods. The 2020 edition emerged from an ambitious brewing project: a single 2000-litre base beer was transformed into five distinct fruited variants, showcasing the creativity of the Eindhoven brewing team. Full-bodied and warming, this stout delivers a lingering finish where roasted malt and Madagascar vanilla intertwine, rewarding contemplative sipping at cooler temperatures.
