Marie's Rendezvous from Schneider Weisse's Tap X series is a weizenbock dedicated to Anna-Maria Schneider, whose meeting with Georg I. founded the brewery. This golden wheat beer at 10% ABV is brewed with the rare Nelson Sauvin hop from New Zealand and undergoes natural fermentation in the bottle. The palate is lush and intense: dried fruits such as plum, raisin and apricot mingle with honey and caramel, supported by subtle peppery spice. The beer displays a full body with soft carbonation and a supple, malt-forward texture without cloying sweetness. This reads more as a wheat wine than a traditional weizen—complex, elegant and thoroughly rewarding.
