Maja is an ambitious collaboration between Portland's Hair of the Dog and Sweden's Omnipollo. This American barleywine at 10.8% ABV delivers a full, layered experience. Aged in bourbon barrels and brewed with maple syrup, vanilla and lactose, the beer builds on a rich, sweet foundation with pronounced caramel character. The aroma reveals hints of vanilla and maple alongside dark fruit notes. On the palate, brown sugar and toffee lead, with subtle apple and a whisper of cinnamon. The malt backbone remains evident, providing structure to this smooth, warming beer.
