About
Brouwerij Boon's Oude Geuze Vat 109 is a monoblend lambic aged entirely in cask no. 109, a German-built ex-Cognac barrel from around 1910 in its fourth fill. Green apple and wild yeast dominate the nose, with intense tartness revealing citrus and grapefruit on the palate. Dry and champagne-like in character, the beer carries subtle oak and vanilla undertones from its long cask residence. At 8.3% ABV, it achieves remarkable balance—full-bodied yet crisp, with a lingering funky finish that honors both the lambic tradition and the barrel's refined heritage.
