Tuborg is a Danish brewery with roots stretching back to 1873, when it was founded by Philip W. Heyman and Carl Frederik Tietgen near Copenhagen, Denmark. For nearly a century, Tuborg stood as one of Denmark's most prominent and independent brewing names, building a strong national reputation alongside its great rival Carlsberg. In 1970, following a historic merger, Tuborg became part of the United Breweries AS together with Carlsberg, and has since operated under the Carlsberg Group umbrella, one of the world's largest brewing companies. Tuborg's portfolio is centred around approachable lager-style beers, with a focus on crisp, easy-drinking pilsners. The brewery's most iconic product is Tuborg Green, a classic pilsner brewed at 4.6% ABV that has become the flagship of the brand and remains widely recognised across international markets. Tuborg also produces a seasonal offering in the form of Tuborg Christmas Beer, a half-dark lager brewed to a distinctive recipe that blends three different malts and has long been a festive tradition in Scandinavia and beyond. Today, Tuborg is sold and licensed in numerous countries worldwide, with the brand enjoying particular popularity across Europe and beyond. Türk Tuborg, for example, operates as a significant regional licensee. As part of the Carlsberg Group's global portfolio, Tuborg continues to represent Danish brewing heritage on an international stage.
