Royal Swinkels is a Dutch family business of brewers and maltsters, headquartered in Lieshout, North Brabant. Founded in 1719, the company has steered a bold and independent course across more than three centuries, growing into the second-largest brewing group in the Netherlands. The Swinkels family name has been at the heart of the business throughout its long history, combining traditional craftsmanship with a forward-looking entrepreneurial spirit across successive generations. The portfolio of Royal Swinkels is remarkably broad, spanning over 300 beverages across sixteen brand names. This range includes everything from mainstream lager beers to specialty and craft styles, covering both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. Among the well-known brands under the Royal Swinkels umbrella are La Trappe, the iconic Trappist ale from Tilburg, and Rodenbach, the celebrated Flemish red ale from Belgium. A craft beer brewery was also started in 2004, further diversifying the group's brewing credentials. Royal Swinkels has built a strong reputation not only for beer quality but also for sustainability. The company has been named the most sustainable brewery in the world for three consecutive years at the Icons of Beer awards. Its brands are distributed internationally, with a dedicated US import partnership covering flagship names such as Rodenbach, La Trappe, and Habesha.
