Founded by Norman Sterkens, the brand emerged from a passion for craft beer and local entrepreneurship. Rather than operating a large industrial facility, NoordSter positions itself as a smaller, artisan beer firm — with some of its beers brewed externally in collaboration with other regional breweries, reflecting a common and respected tradition in Belgium's craft beer landscape. The NoordSter portfolio features a range of characterful beers, including a blonde and a brown ale, crafted with an emphasis on flavour and regional identity. One of the brand's notable collaborations is a coffee beer called Fay's Coffee, developed together with Brouwerij Vervoort from Herentals. This partnership highlights NoordSter's willingness to experiment beyond conventional styles. The brand has also ventured into food-adjacent products such as beer truffles, made in collaboration with local chocolatier Sjokola, sold through local beverage retailers and as part of gift packages. NoordSter has been featured at regional beer festivals and fairs, including a beer market organised by Nijlen OnbegrensT, where the brand presented three distinctive beers. Among these was 'De Norman', underlining the personal connection between the brewer and the brand.
