Brasserie Saint-Monon was founded in 1996 by Pierre Jacob, who at the time was the youngest brewer in Wallonia. The brewery is uniquely situated on an active farm in Nassogne, in the heart of the Belgian Ardennes. Jacob established the brewery on his parents' farm, combining agricultural tradition with artisanal brewing. The first beer to reach the market was the Saint-Monon, which quickly became the flagship of the brewery. Brasserie Saint-Monon specialises in artisanal Belgian craft beers, producing a range of specialty beers with distinct character. The brewery's setting on a working farm gives it a rustic authenticity that reflects in its brewing philosophy. Among its beers is a notable specialty beer reaching 8% ABV, showcasing the brewery's commitment to full-flavoured, characterful brews typical of the Wallonian craft beer tradition. Originally, the brewery served primarily to supply the adjacent bistro with beer, but it has since grown into a recognised name in Belgian craft brewing. The brewery remains housed within the farmstead, making it a notable destination for beer lovers exploring the Ardennes region and its rich artisanal brewing heritage.
