Ruination Double IPA
Stone Ruination Double IPA is a landmark West Coast Double IPA from Stone Brewing in California. Released in 2002, it became the first commercially brewed and bottled double IPA produced year-round—a defining moment in American craft beer history.
The aroma is intensely hoppy: piney, resinous, and citrus-forward notes dominate. On the palate, bold bitterness exceeds 100 IBUs, balanced by tropical fruit and grapefruit character. The finish remains dry and persistently bitter, true to classic West Coast form.
At 8.5% ABV, Ruination combines Centennial, Citra, Simcoe, and Azacca hops for a full-bodied, uncompromising hop experience that defined the double IPA category.
