Pohjala Plum BA Barleywine
Põhjala's Plum Barleywine from Tallinn is a rich, barrel-aged expression that puts plum and fig character centre stage. A full, viscous malt base combines with plum liqueur, speculoos and wildflower notes. The fermentation is clean and the bitterness assertive, making it drink leaner than its weight suggests.
The nose opens with ripe plums and figs, followed by dried fruit cake, caramel and toasted malt. On the palate, port wine and dried plum flavours emerge alongside fresh fruit and subtle tannins. The finish is dry with a lingering bitterness and a whisper of dark chocolate that extends the experience.
