Medvedgrad Baltazar is a hoppy lager from Pivovara Medvedgrad, Zagreb's pioneering craft brewery since 1994. This unusual lager marries the crisp, clean character of a traditional lager with the bold hop presence of an IPA-style brew. The brewery employs Simcoe, Citra and Mandarin Bavaria hops to deliver fruity notes balanced by a gentle 45 IBU bitterness. The aroma opens with malt, hop and citrus. On the palate, it is carbonated and fresh, with assertive hop character, subtle malt sweetness and a whisper of citrus zest. A versatile beer that pairs well with light seafood and fresh cuisine.
