Oak Aged #39
La Trappe Oak Aged #39 is a Trappist Quadrupel from Bierbrouwerij De Koningshoeven, brewed within the abbey walls following monastic tradition since 1884. This batch #39 has matured for two years in oak casks from Jameson Irish whiskey distilleries, creating a distinctive character.
Fermentation uses specially selected yeast at 18–20°C, followed by extended barrel aging that builds considerable depth. The result is a fruity, warming ale with pronounced oak and wood aromas, crafted from natural ingredients: barley malt, hop cones, candi sugar, and the abbey's own spring water.
At 11% ABV, this beer delivers fullness and warmth, suited to slow appreciation and contemplation.
