Of Foam and Fury is the pioneering West Coast Double IPA from Galway Bay Brewery, founded in 2009 by two friends determined to reshape Ireland's beer landscape. This was Ireland's first Double IPA and remains a cornerstone of their range. The brewery relies on American hop varieties—Simcoe, Mosaic and Citra—to deliver a full, juicy character. The aroma brings tropical fruit, grapefruit pith and a fresh pine-like crispness. On the palate, mango, orange jam and resinous hop bitterness build to a clean, dry finish. At 8.5% ABV, this is remarkably drinkable for its strength. The interplay between sweet fruity malt and assertive hop bitterness creates a complex, well-balanced Double IPA.
