Johannes Blond is a local blonde ale brewed by Brouwerij De Graal in Brakel for Het Trappistenhuis in Ghent. Created in 2007 through a partnership between Johan, the café's owner, and his son, this beer follows medieval brewing tradition using only yeast, malt, hops and water. A remarkably soft beer with a crisp, dry finish. The aroma reveals malty, spicy and floral notes alongside subtle vanilla hints. On the palate, mild and unassertive, with a pleasant interplay between pale malt character and a leafy hop presence that carries through from first sip to aftertaste. Light golden in colour with a full, creamy head.
