Special No. 5 is a deep amber quadrupel from Brouwerij Holevoort in Bakel, where tradition and craft merge. This full-bodied beer spent 361 days in a cognac barrel, adding rich layers of oak, vanilla and matured fruit to the classic quadrupel foundation. The aroma reveals red ripe fruit, spice and subtle cognac character. On the palate, a full and complex experience unfolds: caramel, dried fruit and gentle bitterness held in balance with natural sweetness. The cognac barrel maturation brings warmth and depth without overshadowing the malt structure beneath. Holevoort sources locally—hop, barley and water from their own soil—giving this beer a distinctly North Brabant character. Best enjoyed around 10°C.
