Über

Jan de Lichte is a double witbier brewed by Brouwerij De Glazen Toren in Erpe-Mere since 2005. This lightly hazy wheat beer blends equal parts wheat and pilsner malt, seasoned with coriander and curaçao orange peel for a spicy, refreshing character. The flavour is intense yet soft: wheat malt delivers a crisp, dry edge while bitter orange peel and coriander add aromatic depth. Despite its higher alcohol content, it drinks smoothly with a citrus-driven finish that lingers pleasantly. The name honours Jan de Lichte, an infamous 18th-century gang leader from the Aalst-Zottegem region.
