Frère Jacques
Frère Jacques takes its name from the legendary sleeping monk of the famous children's song. Brouwerij Broeder Jacob, founded in 2010 by Johan Claes in Wezemaal, tells the story of Brother Jacob, permitted to brew only in his spare time. This dubbel is dark and full-bodied, with flavours that linger on the palate.
The aroma is sweet with fruity character. On the palate, dark fruit, caramel and nutty notes emerge, leading to a velvety, complex finish. At 7.5% ABV and bottle-refermented in the traditional Trappist style, this is a classic Belgian dubbel that pairs well with aged cheeses and hearty meat dishes.
