At just 0.2% ABV, it captures the golden hue and aromatic character of the traditional style without the strength of full-strength tripels. This makes it an approachable introduction to the tripel family, where Belgian yeast typically contributes fruity and spicy notes. The tripel style itself emerged in the 1930s when Trappist and other Belgian breweries created strong, golden ales with complex flavour profiles. Tripels traditionally combine Pilsner malt with white sugar and attenuative yeast, resulting in a dry, fruity finish with hints of spice and citrus.
